Climb Time: 9:45 AM
Distance: 5 miles
Tape color: Red, Yellow (optional)
Begin at Godric Grove at the Terrace of Remembrance stairs. Head south down the mountain and circumnavigate the Singleton Pavilion loop on your way down to Jerry Harwin Parkway. Once on Jerry Harwin Parkway turn north and walk along the east side of the soccer fields. Take the small trail which runs along the north side of the soccer and softball fields. You will then do a loop in the sand dunes above the BMX track. From there you will take the west-edge perimeter trail south (parallel to Las Positas Rd.). Off this trail we’ve marked an optional loop (yellow markings) to add elevation and distance if you want a challenge. (The Yellow loop begins with a difficult uphill scramble and will bring you back to the west perimeter trail.) Proceed along the west perimeter trail. It will turn to the east towards the South Entrance parking lot. From there you’ll proceed up the eastern perimeter trail to the ridge and to the water station and some amazing views. From there you return to Jerry Harwin Parkway by proceeding north down the hill via the western switchback section. Now simply proceed back up to Godric Grove for the food, entertainment and celebration.
